mile after mile, the phantom taste drinking wine from your heels

I'm a big fan of my job. A week into it may be too early to say anything substantial, but I'm convinced I ended up at a great place. The atmosphere is electric, the coworkers are nice, the office is modern, the work is challenging. It's essentially a well funded start-up.

I don't know if I'll ever want to work for a large company, because so much gets lost when you can't know everyone, and dropping by at any second to get an update on something is pretty close to ideal. This week, I got a list of 6 projects and was asked to pick 3 that I'd like to do. Well, I wanted to do 5 of them. The 6th one wasn't even that bad.

Also, the guy who I share an office with and I are getting to know each other. Today we found out an interesting fact. Our houses are less than 200 feet from each other. Seriously. Here I am blabbing about how great it is to know all the coworkers, and this dude is my neighbor and neither of us knew it. Sounds like a carpool is in order.
