This has become a birthday week of sorts. On Saturday, we hosted a Chili Cookoff at my house for all of my classmate's October birthdays.
I'm not sure what metric you would use to judge a chili cookoff, so I'll just say it was a huge success, and give you some numbers. 40 attendees, 10 types of chili, and winners in 3 categories. The most unusual was a "Texas Tuna" chili, made by someone who had never had chili before. It was spicy and surprisingly good. The winning chili had a mixture of 4 different types of meat, rum, chocolate, tomatoes, and various chili type spices. The whole affair was a delight for the senses, and every type of chili was good. I certainly had a bloat after that. And... I had a dream about this cake...
