Calling all wordsmiths

What is the term for the use of varied punctuation and white space in document versions to detect leaks?

example: You get a version of a document, and you don't know which of those has been modified, so you must protect it or you will be instantly found out like, "page 283 in agent x's copy has a coordinating conjunction instead of a semicolon in line 24"

Please please please let me know if you know.

Also, happy birthday to you. You know who you are.

Update:
Canary Trap and Steganogaphy could be what I had in mind. More likely the former.
