Photo Essay: A trip from Athens, GA to California

I picked up my lovely assistant from his house. He had just finished saying goodbye to his lovely assistant.














We crossed the mighty mississippi river going so fast that the poor camera could barely take a picture.











Next, we drove and drove. And drove. And drove. Here's a place in Arizona where we stopped. I adopted the persona of the gleeful-but-hot-and-tired-cowboy-vigilante/beastmaster. That persona is answering questions that you post in the comments section.


We went to the grand canyon.

That was a beautiful facility and it has a great view of the smoggy pit, or "Los Angeles" as the natives call it.













Along the way, I had to buy a lot of gas. It's not cheap in California.


That's pretty much it. Later I'll mention the mishaps along the way.

Oooh I love the Getty! Did you like it? It makes me think of something Howard Roark would design.

The Getty is amazing. I'll continue to go there as long as I live nearby.
