Stop Plate Tectonics Now!

Perhaps you've come across this news story by now, but if you haven't, you can check out the details. Basically, Taipei 101, the world's tallest building (1/3 mile tall and weighing in at about the weight of 165,000 Hummers), might be causing some trouble. Seismologically speaking, of course. That's one big building! It just so happens to be sitting on a weak spot in the earth's crust, or so it is presumed. Will it be responsible for some serious earthquakes? Who knows. It appears that the Japanese are scared, though.



See? Maybe they're shocked that it doesn't follow the rules of most pagodas. The number of tiers has to be prime and you can clearly see 8! (perhaps that's what the 101 is there for, but I'm on the verge of some comedy here, so let's let it slide)
